Music Keyboard
To have a feel (touch) that is very similar to a real piano, you should select a music keyboard (electric piano) with weighted keys. Weighted keys means that they put some weight in each key and the way they build the keyboard it feels heavier and bounces like a piano. It is not the same as a real accoustic piano with hammers but for practicing piano and developing piano skills, it’s totally alright.
Now there are different sizes of music keyboards. The real size of a piano is 88 keys. Several brands make 88 keys. There are 88 keys keyboards that have
weighted keys and some that don’t. Electric piano that don’t have weighted keys will feel lighter to the touch.
88-Key keyboard
You do not have to get a 88-key keyboard at start. Some have 25 keys…. too small. A good size keyboard would also be 61 keys. This is not to small and gives you
enough range of notes to practice. You can also find 61-key keyboards.
